An Action Research Study to Determine One Teacher's Role in the Response to Intervention Process

Masters of Arts in Teaching Thesis

This action research study was an exploration of the Response to Intervention processes and procedures. Additionally, it was an exploration of the role of the teacher and each member of the RtI team in a single school setting. I wanted to better understand specific ways that teachers could speak into this support process, I also wanted to understand what a teacher should be expected to do in this specific situation.  In order to focus my research, I formed the three following research questions to help guide me through the process:

1. How does the Response to Intervention process work?

2. What are some potential roadblocks to the Response to Intervention process?

3. What is the role of the teacher in the Response to Intervention process?
